            Research Study Seeks ALS Patients

If you or someone you know experience episodes of uncontrollable laughing and/or crying, you may be eligible for a clinical study now underway to find a treatment for this condition.

A clinical research trial is actively enrolling patients to evaluate the efficacy and safety of a targeted treatment known as AVP-923. The trial is recruiting patients with ALS and other neurological disorders who have pseudobulbar affect, a condition characterized by episodes of uncontrollable laughing and/or crying. An estimated 50 percent of ALS patients suffer from pseudobulbar affect.
